A – The length of the stainless steel tubing below the plastic pedestal
B – Height of cylindrical plastic pedestal, which is 7.8mm for Series I, II & IV and 5.5mm for Series III
C – The length of the stainless steel tubing below the plastic pedestal, can be customized.
C.C-Center distance between double guide cannulas, double dummy cannulas and double injectors. These 3 values should be the same in one system.
D – External diameter of stainless steel guide cannulas.
E – External diameter of cylindrical plastic base.
F1 – External diameter of Fixing screw.
F2 – External diameter of Dummy Cannulas.
H1 – Height of Fixing screw.
H2 – Height of Dummy Cannulas.
G1- The internal cannulas projection length beyond the guide cannulas tip, can be customized.
G2- The dummy cannulas projection length beyond the guide cannulas tip, can be customized.
Purchasing Steps:
Step 1:
The type of guide cannula-double is first selected based on the experimental animal and the depth of two target brain regions.
For Series I, the guide cannula-double has the specification and outer diameter of 26 G and 0.48mm respectively, suitable for both rat and mice.
For Series II, the guide cannula-double has the specification and outer diameter of 23 G and 0.64mm respectively, suitable for rat.
For Series III, the guide cannula-double has the specification and outer diameter of 26 G and0.48 mm respectively, suitable for mice.
For Series IV, the guide cannula-double has the specification and outer diameter of 27 G and0.41 mm respectively, suitable for mice.
NOTE: The Series III and Series I guide cannula-double have different height of cylindrical plastic pedestal (7.8mm for the former and 5.5mm for the latter) and Series III guide cannula-double is only suitable for mice.
Step 2:
Determine the C.C value: the C.C value should be chosen according to the horizontal distance between the two target brain regions.
Step 3:
Determine the C value: length of the stainless steel tube of the Guide cannula. C = depth of target brain region + thickness of dental cement (0.5 ~ 0.8 mm) – G1.
Step 4:
Determine the G1 value: the length of the protruding part of the internal cannula when it is inserted into the guide cannula.Usually 0.5 mm or 1.0 mm is selected, and 0.5 mm is recommended.
Step 5:
Determine the G2 value: the length of the protruding part of the dummy cannula when it is inserted into the guide cannula.Usually 0, 0.5mm or 1.0 mm is selected, 0 mm is recommended.
Series I: Recommended for rat or mice
Series II: Recommended for rat
Series III: Recommended for mice
Series IV: Recommended for mice
